Superintendent of Utilities – This is skilled supervisory and administrative work overseeing the installation, repair and maintenance of water and wastewater plant, water distribution and wastewater collection lines, wells, pump stations, lift stations and appurtenances for the City of Jefferson City Utility Department. Job responsibilities also include overseeing the operation and maintenance of the water and wastewater plants. Job responsibilities require thorough knowledge and experience working with heavy equipment and machinery utilized for utilities maintenance and repair projects, considerable knowledge of state and federal regulations governing wastewater and water distribution systems. Physical, background check, and drug screen required prior to employment.
Necessary Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited four year high school; a minimum of five years experience in utility installation and/or construction; thorough knowledge of the activities involved in the installation, maintenance, repair and/or replacement of utility lines and related components.
Necessary Special Requirements:
Possession of a valid Tennessee Commercial Drivers License
Certification as a Grade I Water Distribution System Operator
Certification as a Grade I Wastewater Collection System Operator
Certification in TN Cross Connection and Backflow Testing
