Summary
James C. Hailey & Company, Consulting Engineers is looking for a motivated, self-starting Project Manager to perform design, analysis, permitting, implementation, and administration of engineering projects, with an emphasis on, but not limited to utilities and municipal engineering. This position is responsible for management of technical design, planning, and administration during and after the construction phase.

Job Description:
Provide technical leadership projects of all sizes and types.
Perform and Review engineering calculations and prepare detailed design drawings and specifications.
Gather information, develop and evaluate alternatives and prepare engineering reports.
Interact with clients, office staff, field staff, permitting agencies, funding agencies, and other consulting firms in the execution of engineering projects.
Project management activities associated with the planning and execution of municipal and other engineering projects.
Support local efforts and teams identifying, pursuing, and winning new projects.
Develop broad knowledge and skills in specific practice areas.
Evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects.
Work on projects of all sizes and with varying complexity.
Coordinate and assign tasks to other engineers, CAD technicians, inspectors, and administrative staff.
Assist in determining scheduling and budget requirements.
Continuing education with respect to existing and new technologies.
Provide design work to be reviewed by Principal(s) for sound professional judgment.
Perform review of plans, shop drawings, budgets, contract documents, technical specifications, and related materials.
Attendance of select council and utility board meetings in order to provide updates on current and future projects.
Actively identify potential projects with utilities and municipalities.
Project Manager will be required to travel within the state of Tennessee (approximately 30% of the time) to visit construction sites and to assist clients.
Experience and Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering from an accredited program.
PE Certification in the State of Tennessee.
Minimum 5 years of experience in municipal engineering.
Eligible candidates must possess a valid Driver’s License.
Previous experience with distribution system, collection system, drainage, and/or structural modeling software is a plus.
