White House Utility District (WHUD) has an opening for a Water Utility Engineer. This position supports new development projects and ensures the long-term performance and capacity of WHUD’s water distribution system. Wages will be negotiated based on prior experience, applicable certifications and licenses, and other credentials.
Responsibilities of the Water Utility Engineer include:
· Review and approval of engineering plans, designs, and specifications for water infrastructure including pipelines, pump stations, tanks, and related systems
· Hydraulic modeling and analysis to assess system capacity and performance
· Project management from planning through completion, including scheduling and resource coordination
· Coordinate permitting and erosion control measures with state and local environmental agencies
· Perform onsite utility inspections as needed
To qualify, a candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field, and prior experience in water/wastewater utility operations and hydraulic modeling. Candidates must also pass a thorough and extensive background check and pre-employment drug screen.
Candidates must be able to meet all physical requirements of the position including:
· Sit, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, and move intermittently throughout the workday
· Lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
· Work in outdoor environments with exposure to dirt, dust, water, wastewater, odors, rain, snow, wind, and temperature extremes
· Drive or ride in vehicles for site visits and inspections
· Climb ladders and perform work at varying elevations
· Use and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
· Report to work for emergency duty in the event of a man-made disaster or act of God. Emergency duties may involve tasks outside the scope of the employee’s normal work routine
