Building Inspector/Code Official
The Town of Atoka is seeking a full-time Building Inspector/Code Official for its Planning and Inspection Department. The successful candidate will have the following characteristics: positive attitude and work ethic, self-motivated, detail oriented and well organized. The candidate must also be team-oriented and be able to communicate well with the public.
This employee is directly responsible for the ensuring compliance with the Town’s Code of Ordinances. Performs a variety of technical duties and enforcement of building codes, regulations, and property maintenance. Work includes maintaining proper administrative processes, field inspections, meeting with property owners, educating the public about applicable laws, issuing warnings, citations, prosecuting violations in court, coordinating with other town departments. The employee is responsible for implementing and enforcing the policies relevant to the department as adopted by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen.
