The TAUD Registered Apprenticeship Program has had a lot of success. As a result, the program has more interested applicants than it does facilities to place them in. I am seeking facilities that are hiring and possibly interested in the apprenticeship program.

The first step in an apprenticeship program is for the candidate to have a full-time job at a water, wastewater, distribution or collection facility. Once the candidate has a job then the facility can decide if they would like to participate in the program. There is no obligation to participate. Our first goal is employment. The Apprenticeship Program can come after hiring if the employer is interested.

I want to make you aware of individuals across the state that are interested in water or wastewater employment and willing to relocate if an acceptable position is made available. The individuals are interested in the water/wastewater industry, and they are willing to be trained.

I have many applicants that I can give your facility information to if you are interested. If you are searching for a new hire at your facility, please contact me.

If you have questions or want to receive information regarding these applicants, please contact Kevin Byrd at kevinbyrd@taud.org org or 423-215-3720.
