Water Distribution System Operator

The Town of Wartrace, Tennessee,  is seeking Certified Water Distribution Operators who are skilled in but not limited to; proper operation, maintenance, reporting, collection, treatment, distribution and/or disposal of water and wastewater. Maintenance of city fleet, equipment, streets, storm water drains, city owned buildings, parks etc. Preferred experience with heavy equipment and Water Distribution Certification Grade I or II. Will report to the Water Utility Manager.

Ideal Candidate:

• High School diploma or GED
• Valid Tennessee Driver’s License
• Valid Tennessee CDL License or ability to obtain within 6 months (Preferred)
• State of Tennessee Grade I or II Water Distribution, Grade 1 Wastewater Treatment (Preferred) and Grade 1 Wastewater Collection (Preferred).
• One or more years of experience is a plus.
• Experience with Telemetry and SCADA Systems
• Professional behavior, Time management, Communication Skills
• Administrative Skills
• Experience with operation of heavy equipment: Backhoe, Skid Loader, etc.
• Knowledge of safe work environment principles and PPE.
• Finalist must pass a federal, state, and local background check prior to employment.
• Finalist must pass drug and alcohol Screening prior to employment to be in compliance with laws and regulations regarding a Drug Free Workplace.
• Additional job responsibilities if asked to complete

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour (DOE)

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift (Monday-Friday)
• Participate in On-call rotation
• Holidays per On-call rotation

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

License/Certification:

• Driver’s License (Required)
• TDEC Water Distribution Certification Grade I or II
• TN CDL (Optional)
