Decentralized Sewer Installer
We are seeking an experienced decentralized sewer utility technician to join our small-crew operations. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working on crews of 2–4 people, can take ownership of daily tasks, and is interested in growing into a foreman role as experience and leadership skills develop.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair decentralized sewer systems (STEP/STEG, small-diameter sewer, laterals, tanks, treatment units, sub-surface drip, and controls)
- Work closely with a small crew to complete projects efficiently and safely
- Assist with daily job planning, material coordination, and task sequencing
- Lead specific tasks or the full crew when needed
- Ensure work is completed to plans, specs, and local regulations
- Troubleshoot system issues in the field and communicate solutions
- Train and mentor less experienced crew members
- Enforce safety, quality, and housekeeping standards
Qualifications
- 3+ years of sewer, wastewater, or utility construction experience
- Valid Driver’s License
- Fluent English, Spanish a plus
- Experience with decentralized or small-bore sewer systems preferred
- Experience with equipment operation
- Basic electrical understanding a plus
- Comfortable working in small crews with limited supervision
- Ability to read plans and grade stakes
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Reliable, organized, and safety-focused
- Prior lead, acting foreman, or crew lead experience a plus
- Interest in growing into a foreman or supervisory role
Compensation
